
LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed that a crossing guard was hit by a vehicle in front of Sangaree Elementary School in Ladson Wednesday morning.
Troopers responded to School House Lane off Royle Road around 7:15 a.m. and injuries are reported.
According the SCHP, a 16-year-old girl from Goose Creek was making a left turn in her Chevy pickup truck from Royle Road onto School House Lane when the vehicle collided with the crossing guard.
She is charged with disobeying a school guard directing traffic which yields a $225 fine and four points on her license.
The crossing guard, 35-year-old Natalie Boles of Summerville was sent to MUSC with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
