CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) --  Charleston County Sheriff's deputies responded to Folly Road near Oak Island Drive for a two-vehicle accident involving a bicycle Thursday afternoon.

It happened around 5 p.m. near Crosby's Seafood.

According to the CCSO, the bicyclist was traveling off of Folly Road, with the flow of traffic and sideswiped an SUV traveling in the same direction.

The CCSO says the bicyclist then lost control and was stuck by a second vehicle. The bicyclist was transported from the scene by Charleston County EMS to the hospital with serious injuries. He later died from blunt force head trauma.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified him as 31-year-old Matthew Reid Fisher of Charleston.
