MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WCIV)-- With Tropical Storm Beryl making it's way down the eastern coast, swimmers at Myrtle Beach are asked to get out of the water.
According to WPDE who spoke with Sgt. Phillip Cane with the City of Myrtle Beach Police Beach Patrol, they are only letting people wade because of rip currents.
WPDE reports that the beach patrol has already made numerous rescues, thankfully with no drownings, and Sgt. Cane describes the surf as "extremely rough."
Meanwhile, the United States Coast Guard has issued their own warning, asking swimmers and boaters to use caution in the coming days until the storm has passed.
