SC's first 787 flown to Texas for paint

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The first Lowcountry-made Boeing 787 Dreamliner left North Charleston Wednesday en route to Texas.

Officials with Boeing's North Charleston facility say the jet will be painted at a facility in Fort Worth. 

Wednesday's flight to Texas marks the second flight of the historic aircraft. The jet was first flown on a May 23 test flight.

The jet is expected to return to the Lowcountry next month before being delivered to the company that bought it -- Air India.

The company has ordered 27 jets from Boeing.
