Cowboys Hire Holliday As New Baseball Coach

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma State has hired former player Josh Holliday as its new head baseball coach, the team announced Friday.

In a 3 p.m. press conference, Athletic Director Mike Holder announced the hiring of Holliday, the son of former Cowboys coach Tom Holliday, who served as skipper from 1997 to 2003.

Josh Holliday comes to OSU from Vanderbilt, where he has spent the past three seasons as an assistant. He has also been an assistant at his alma mater from 2000 to 2003, at N.C. State (2004) and Georgia Tech (2005-07).

Josh Holliday is also the brother of St. Louis Cardinals outfielder and five-time All-Star Matt Holliday.

He replaces Frank Anderson, who was let go last month after the Cowboys finished 32-and-25 and suffered six straight losses to end the season.
