KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- The 2012 PGA Championship chairman made an exciting announcement on Friday. Tickets are available for the previously sold out championship being held at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island this August.
"The sale of tickets for the 2012 Championship has been unprecedented in how early we were able to sell out and the interest and enthusiasm from people in South Carolina," said General Chairman of the PGA Championship, Roger Warren.
"This is an event that will live up to the hype. When you take the greatest golfers in the world playing on the toughest course in the United States in the conditions that we will have in the Ocean Course with the wind, ocean, and the sun, you really bring all of those aspects together and it's going to be a great event."
Warren says golf fans can now get their hands on a $500 dollar ticket package. The limited ticket package is for August 9th to the 12th – the most sought out days for the tournament. All you have to do is call 1-800-PGA-GOLF or go online to www.PGA2012.com to get your tickets starting at 10 AM on Monday, June 18th. Organizers say act fast -- only 1,735 tickets are available
"It's just another opportunity for people to see this championship up close and personal. We've limited the number of people to 30,000 so the experience is good as can be. This is just the last chance opportunity to buy tickets for the 2012 PGA Championship," Warren said.
