SULLIVAN'S ISLAND, (WCIV) -- The big five-oh is a birthday to be remembered, and that is the hope on Sullivan's Island this weekend.
The Sullivan's Island lighthouse is celebrating 50 years, as the last major lighthouse built in the United States. Architect Jack Graham was just 25-years-old when he sketched the lighthouse. He will be on hand this weekend as part of the festivities.
The birthday bash is Saturday, June 16 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the U.S. Coast Guard Historic District at 1815 I'On Avenue on Sullivan's Island.
It is a kid friendly event, with live music and refreshments. What's more, it is free and open to the public.
