CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- The Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission is holding six public meetings to get your input on what's next for the county parks in your area.
The "Parks for Tomorrow" campaign is focusing on needs for the parks, recreation and trails including ideas for new activities and what to do with recently purchased properties.
The campaign will take into consideration the existing facilities, programs, and services, and combine them with your input to determine the future level of service for the Lowcountry.
Parks for Tomorrow will create a new "Parks, Recreation and Trails Master Plan" to prioritize the needs and desires for upgrades and will potentially create new facilities and services over the next 10 years.
One of the important factors of the plan is to determine the funding sources that are available and supported to implement the needs of the community. N
Public Workshops will be conducted at various area schools from June 19 to June 21 and also from July 24 to July 26, from 7-8:30 p.m. each day.
