CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston firefighters got a special message from Vice President Joe Biden this week -- for the 5th anniversary of the Sofa Super Store Fire.
Biden was a senator when the fire took the lives of nine firefighters back in 2007. He attended the public memorial service at the North Charleston Coliseum that same year.
"We are reminded that we should be thankful not only to these nine men for their sacrifice, but all of you who put on that uniform, kiss your families goodby, not knowing what awaits you," Biden said in the letter.
