CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston Police Department held a press conference Tuesday to ask the public for help in finding Marley Lion's killer.
Mayor Joe Riley was in attendance, along with the Lion family.
Chief Greg Mullen said he is confident that there are individuals in the community who have information on the murder of the 17-year-old Academic Magnet grad.
Mullen also stressed that while they are looking for a man seen in the surveillance video of the crime, that person is not a suspect.
Police are asking the man in the white t-shirt to please come forward. That man could have information that could help solve the case.
Marley Lion's mother, Elizabeth Paige, thanked the police for their work on the case and had strong words for people who have information on her son's murder but have refused to come forward.
"My son's blood is on your hands," she said.
Police did not have much to add regarding the investigation. They said information is coming in, but they need it to pick up for it to be of any help.
Mayor Riley said the police are using "every resource available" to catch Marley's killer. He also said that those who don't come forward have the burden on them.
Part of the plea for help includes a growing reward fund that Chief Mullen says has already reached $13,000.
In the meantime, police have released a cell phone number to contact the lead detective in the Lion investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call or text: 843-607-6787.
