GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two more dogs were found bound in a Georgetown canal only this time, they didn't make it.
After a black lab was found wrapped in duct tape earlier this week, struggling to stay afloat, the bodies of two more dogs were found in the International Paper canal on Brick Chimney Road Thursday.
Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office say they found the dogs at around noon.
The discovery comes two days after a black Labrador, now named Dara, was found muzzled and taped up. She was spotted by a girl fishing from the bridge and soon rescued.
Wendy Goude of the Saint Frances Animal Shelter was at the scene and says it looked like officials pulled out a large yellow lab mix and a smaller boykin spaniel.
Goude says the dogs had been in the water for some time.
"Probably at least two to three days," she said. "The decomposition stages had already happened. It was pretty gruesome."
Officials say they have no suspects or leads as to who killed the dogs at this time. They are also not saying if the three dogs found are linked.
The case is still under investigation.
If you have any information at all you are asked to call the Georgetown's Sheriff's Department at 843-546-5102.
Meanwhile, Dara's doctors say she is doing great.
The black lab had a check-up Thursday morning. Doctors say her wounds are healing, and they are going to monitor her health a little longer before releasing her to a new home.
Those at Saint Frances Animal Center say they have heard from nearly 100 people who want to make Dara their own. There is no word yet on who the lucky owner will be.
