DHEC: Edisto Beach placed under swimming advisory

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A swimming advisory has been issued for a section of Edisto Beach, the Department of Health and Environmental Control announced Tuesday.

The affected area is 200 feet above and 200 feet below the beach access at the end of
Yacht Club Road on Edisto Beach.

High bacteria levels have been detected in this area, and swimming is not advised until bacteria levels return to normal.
