If you're looking for the North Charleston Farmers Market, it's moved - again

Posted: Updated:

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- After opening in a new location just three months ago, the North Charleston Farmers Market has relocated to its original address.

Beginning July 12, You can find your fresh fruits and veggies in Park Circle at the Felix C. Davis Community Center. The market will remain there for the remainder of the season.

Organizers say the new location in the Olde Village just wasn't working out.

"We wanted to try something new and see if we could blend the Farmers Market into East Montague to support the location merchants," said Ryan Johnson with the mayor's office. "But we had some issues with parking and there wasn't any shade at the location on East Montague. No shade in the Lowcountry in July and August gets a bit warm."

The market will then be open every Thursday from 2 p.m until 7 p.m. until mid-October and includes a number of local farmers and growers selling local produce, free-range poultry and beef and locally caught seafood. Local vendors will also offer arts, crafts and even gourmet dog treats.

Each week, the city's cultural arts department features a performance or artist to showcase. Musical performances will be held on the first, third, and fifth Thursday of each month. Art
demonstrations will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
