Volunteers needed for First Day Festival

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – The end of the summer for Charleston county kids is just around the corner and volunteers are needed to help ring in the new school year.

The 10th Annual First Day Festival will be held on Sunday, August 19th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Liberty Square at the South Carolina Aquarium.

Volunteers are needed to make the annual bank-to-school event happen.

Volunteers are needed to help set-up exhibits, distribute school supplies, run water and recycling stations, boat rides, parking and traffic, or serve as festival greeters and line facilitators. Volunteer shifts are from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Noon to 4:30 p.m.

People are also needed to help the week prior to the festival.

To find out how to sign up, visit www.charleston-sc.gov/mocyf or pick up a paper copy of a registration form at 50 Broad Street.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, August 8th.
