Last call to come earlier for Georgetown bars, restaurants

Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, S. C. (WCIV) -- Georgetown City Council members gave final approval to a third reading of an ordinance that forces restaurants and bars to close at 2 a.m.

Georgetown business owner Kathy Mitchum of Katz Bar and Grill says the new law could put her out of business since a big portion of her business comes from mill workers who come into her restaurant to eat after their late night shifts end.

Mitchum says she was told the new closing time will go into effect once all the businesses in the city are given written notice.
