Charleston County wants to hear about parks

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission wants to know how the public sees county parks in the future.

The commission opens three days of public meetings at six schools throughout the county on Tuesday in an effort being called Parks for Tomorrow. The commission wants to know what the public would like to see on land recently bought by the commission for parks and what sorts of events the parks should offer.

In addition to the public hearings, the commission is conducting a survey of households in the county and using focus groups to collect ideas. The results will be used to update the county park master plan.

The first public meeting will be held at Burke High School. It runs from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
