WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) -- Law enforcement officials in Colleton County say an active methamphetamine lab was busted Monday, and two arrests were made.

Officials with the Colleton County Sheriff's Office confirm a narcotic search warrant was executed for 3416 Sidney's Road with the assistance of the Walterboro Public Safety Joint Drug Crime Unit. An active meth lab was reportedly found in the home, and after the scene was secured, officers requested the help of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Colleton County Fire and Rescue Hazardous Materials Unit.

Thomas McMillan, 40, and 37-year-old Kathryn Leann Smoak were both located and decontaminated at the scene. Officials say they have each been charged.

McMillan has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and disposal of waste from production of methamphetamine.

Smoak has been charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws.
