CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Marley Lion's friends are still grieving his loss, but say they feel some closure knowing four arrests have been made in the murder case.

Stewart Walters played basketball with Marley. The two got to know each other on and off the court. Walters said a family member called him to let him know that suspects were in custody.

"It was emotional and it almost brought a happy feeling to me to know that people have worked so hard to bring him justice," Walters said.

Other friends say emotions are still raw and run deep.

"The situation itself brought much sadness, so much shame to our school, so it's nice to know they got caught," Harry Evans said.

Evans added it's been hard to deal with Marley's murder when the act was so senseless.

"There was no obvious motive, it makes no sense," he said. "I would like them to know what Marley meant to his friends and to everyone around him."

Friend Cody Ashy said he felt very close to Marley and the grieving process is not nearly over for him.

"Marley was such a big personality," he said. "You can always hear his thoughts in any given situation."

Marley's murder came full circle on Tuesday with the arrests. Lion would have been 18-years-old.

"I hope he's doing alright up there," Ashy said. "He's in a better place."
