KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- What could have been a dangerous storm turned out to be something interesting to catch on camera early Wednesday night.
A trained weather spotted caught a glimpse of a funnel cloud as it moved slowly over Kiawah Island.
The storm spawned a tornado warning until 9 p.m. This was not a tornado because the funnel cloud never touched the ground, according to ABC NEWS 4 Chief Meteorologist Tom Crawford.
The National Weather Service has to issue a warning because there is the possibility a funnel cloud can touch the ground.
The funnel cloud did not do any damage.
