MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- In an effort to fill up the Shem Creek fishing pier, Mount Pleasant leaders are opening up the criteria for who or rather what can dock there.
Mount Pleasant officials say when they required insurance to those wishing to dock permanantely at the pier, the space cleared.
The spaces were reserved for shrimpers and crabbers.
Now, town leaders are considering opening up the spots to tour and charter companies -- as long as they have insurance.
Town council members will discuss the issue at a Monday committee meeting.
