JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- PGA America and The Kiawah Island Golf Resort have teamed up to give a family in need a new home.
The organizations held a ribbon-cutting event for a home built by Sea Island Habitat for Humanity. PGA and Kiawah Island Golf Resort also sponsored the construction of the house in the Brownswood Place subdivision on Johns Island.
Lauren Francis is the lucky owner of the new house.
"To see all the support from those that I pass by everyday, you say hello to everybody but you never would have thought that they would actually have something to do with your house," said Francis. "And that they would come out in the heat!"
PGA executive committee members and the Kiawah Island Golf Resort president were on hand to present the new home to the Francis family.
