KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Lowcountry is putting its best foot forward as viewers worldwide focus in on the 94th PGA Championship.
The final PGA major championship of the year has brought the best golfers in the world to Kiawah Island. With that event comes millions of people laying eyes on the Lowcountry for the very first time.
"How do you buy this much advertisement? Its just impossible," Kiawah Island Golf Pro Jim Kelechi said. "The views -- what people are going to see all over the world, you just can't put a number on it."
The bright lights of television begin Thursday and Friday on the Golf Channel broadcasting live reports throughout the day. TNT is providing 18 hours of tournament coverage to potentially 100 million households on Friday.

"Look the potential is there for a lot of interest from the viewers,"said Alberto Vertino, VP & Executive Producer of Turner Sports said. "You got spectacular golf course spectacular setting you got the best golfers in the world for the last major. Glorious last shot coming together for four days."
The pictures of the ocean course are being shown to 120 countries. More than eight hundred media credentials were issued. Journalists from 14 different countries are covering the event. With that comes the internet factor. The journalists filling the media center are tweeting, facebooking and filling .com spaces with stories about the main attraction -- the Kiawah Ocean Course.
It's an easy sell for South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
"We're talking to people about buying 2nd homes," Governor Haley said. "We're talking to airlines about bringing more flights here and we're creating more jobs as we do it."
By Sunday there will be a name that rises above all others on the 94th PGA Championship leaderboard. The real winner after championship week may be the Lowcountry.
