MOUNT PLEASANT, S. C. (WCIV)- Check your medicine cabinets. Chances are, the children's vitamins you bought for your kids may get you a refund.

As a result of recent findings, the Federal Trade Commission has reached a settlement with vitamin maker NBTY and two subsidiaries. They will pay $2.1 million dollars to settle charges of making false claims about their multivitamins.

According to the FTC, Disney or Marvel Hero-themed vitamins may not be as packed with the proper amount of DHA which promotes healthy brain and eye development in children as advertised.

If you believe that you purchased the vitamins in question between May 1, 2008 and September 30, 2010, you are urged to file a claim online. You can also call 866-224-4336 to have a form mailed to you.

You have until October 12, 2012 to file a claim.
