Coroner identifies victim of early morning murder

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Charleston apartment complex turned into a murder scene early Monday morning.

Police and EMS rushed to the apartments just before 2 a.m.

A spokesperson for the Charleston Police Department says a man was killed at Bridgeview Village Apartments on North Romney Street.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Jarvon Dowling of Ladson. The coroner's office says Dowling died at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Officials say no arrests have been made and that an investigation is ongoing.

No streets were blocked following the shooting, however police could be seen checking vehicles coming in and out of the complex.
