Black sea bass closure date set

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the recreational annual catch limit of black sea bass has been reached.

Therefore, black sea bass fishing will no longer be allowed in the South Atlantic from North Carolina to Florida.

The ban will be in effect from September 4th through June 1st of next year.

For the 2012-2013 fishing year the commercial annual catch limit is 409,000 pounds.
