WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) – The Walterboro church that burned down more than a year ago, is well on its way to being rebuilt.

Last May, the Great Swamp Baptist Church was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. A lack of finances forced the church to sit unrepaired.

A couple of months ago, a group of volunteers rebuilt the framework of the church for free. Since then, the congregation has been able to make continued progress.
