CPD: Man steals wallet from 72-year-old woman and racks up charges

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - A 72-year-old woman says her wallet was stolen from her bag at Publix supermarket on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, according to Charleston Police Department officials.

CPD officials say the suspect charged approximately $1,210 to the victim's card at TJ Maxx, Office Depot, and Best Buy on Sam Rittenberg.

A CPD police report states the victim noticed her wallet was missing when she went to pay at Publix on August 14. The victim says her credit and debit cards, social security card, MediCare card, driver's license, and multiple gift cards were in the wallet, according to the report.
