MOUNT PLEASANT, S. C. (WCIV)- An eclectic show of unity among those opposed to the I-526 extension project will be front and center at a press conference in Charleston today.
Tea Party members, the Coastal Conservation League, "Nix I-526" and residents of James and Johns Islands are set to address ethics reform at the center of state government.
Hosted by the South Carolina Policy Council, the conference will focus on the State Transportation Infrastructure Bank's recent decision to set aside future monies in order to complete the extension of I-526.
Many are opposed to the project because of the traffic that it will bring with it.
The press conference will be held at 9:30 a. m. in the Citadel room at the Embassy Suites at 337 Meeting Street.
