SLED: Hit-and-run suspect is convicted sex offender

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Hit-and-run suspect Philip Wucherer, who injured several children with his vehicle, is a convicted sex offender according to SLED records.

Wucherer is accused of hitting four children with his car and driving away. The 22-year-old is charged with three counts of leaving the scene of a collision involving great bodily injury, and one count of leaving the scene of a collision involving personal injury according to police officials.

Wucherer's bond was set at $600,000 Wednesday night.

Three of the injured victims are still in the hospital with serious injuries.
