MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Actors Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively could have chosen anywhere in the country to get married. They ended up picking Mount Pleasant's Boone Hall Plantation, according to PEOPLE.
The magazine cited sources Sunday saying the couple married Sunday night. PEOPLE says the reception was also held at Boone Hall with songs performed by Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine.
PEOPLE reports Bette Midler was also in town for the event.
Kelly Gukanovich of the "2 Girls and a Guy" morning show on 95sx broke the story on Twitter Sunday night.
"Once I posted the tweet, PEOPLE magazine then saw that and then they looked into it even more and they sent a tweet back saying it is confirmed, it is them. Other people were saying yes it's Blake Lively, yes it's Ryan Reynolds but they credited me as the first person to actually come out and say that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were getting married in Charleston, South Carolina," said Gukanovich.
Leaders at Boone Hall Plantation released this statement Monday on their Facebook page.
"We are receiving a number of inquiries this morning. From time to time Boone Hall Plantation hosts celebrity events. We respect the privacy of the individuals involved at these events. We thank you for your inquiries."
The Bakehouse of Charleston posted on their Facebook page Monday that they were hired to make desserts for the big event. According to the post, they do not have any pictures, but their desserts will be featured in an upcoming edition of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.
