Death in Berkeley County ruled a homicide

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- The death of a man whose body was found Tuesday in Francis Marion National Forest in Berkeley County has been ruled a homicide.

Robert Lamar Moultrie's body was found at 8 a.m. in Francis Marion National Forest. The 31-year-old was shot, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said in a news release Wednesday afternoon.

Few other details have been released, but Salisbury said Tuesday afternoon that Moultrie, of Conway, was found inside a Chevrolet Suburban on Brick Church Road.

"The case is actively being investigated by the sheriff's office ," Salisbury said in a statement. "His death has been ruled a homicide."
