NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County School Board moved one step closer Tuesday to gaining a new member.
At a Joint Delegation meeting, state lawmakers agreed to recommend Todd Garrett for the open position on the board.
The recommendation will go to Gov. Nikki Haley, who will ultimately make the decision regarding whom to appoint.
Former board member Toya Hampton Green announced in August she would resign because of a move to Columbia.
Garrett received the most votes from the delegation, followed by Tony Lewis and Joan Cannon.
