CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A teenager charged with breaking into a building at the Charleston City Golf Course Aug. 30 is now facing a second burglary charge for an alleged break-in at the same location about a week earlier.
Murphy Lopes, 17, was charged with burglary after police say they found him inside a maintenance facility at the golf course Aug. 30. Police responded to the building because an alarm sounded and found a vent on the roof damaged as well as a pill bottle, clothing and a bicycle.
Investigators were called Aug. 22 to the same location, where they found a garage door partially open.
Charles Francis of the Charleston Police Department said in a news release Wednesday that Lopes is also charged with burglary in the Aug. 22 incident.
The investigation into both crimes is ongoing, Francis said.
