Bond set for crime "victim" who was later arrested

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A judge has set bond at $25,000 for a man who told police he was robbed but was later arrested himself.

Joshua LaChance is charged with conspiracy to violate South Carolina State Narcotics Statute.

Earlier this week, LaChance told investigators he was robbed by Darnell Seagers. Later, police say they discovered LaChance met with Seagers to conduct a drug deal and Seagers robbed him.

LaChance was arrested Wednesday after a bizarre incident in front of a bond court judge. He told the judge he had never seen Seagers before and was later questioned by police and arrested.
