Anita Zucker (WCIV)NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Trident Tech College got a nice financial lift today.
The Trident Tech Foundation, an organization not associated directly with school officials, kicked off a "Building Opportunity" capital campaign by recognizing a million dollar pledge.
Anita Zucker and the Zucker family were honored Thursday for their million dollar donation. Zucker has been working with the foundation for nearly 25 years.
"This is a college that is the second largest college in the state and it has been growing for the last several years. Every semester we have had an increase in students. So it's really an exciting and thriving place and it really supports our business community," said Anita Zucker.
Trident Tech enrollment has grown from 7,000 students in 1990 to 17,000 in 2012.
The campaign will provide $2M for technology upgrades and $1.5 million for scholarships.
