WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- It's Restaurant Week in Avondale, and local restaurateurs are hoping you're hungry.
This year's event marks the second year for Restaurant Week in Avondale. Organizers said last year's week was a huge success, so doing it again was a no-brainer.
Restaurant Week begins Monday and runs through Sunday.
"We'll probably be expecting the biggest crowds over the weekend," said Claire Smith, general manager of The Mellow Mushroom, "but I know last year we were slammed all week long."
Smith said several new businesses have opened in the area, and Restaurant Week is a good time for area residents to sample the fare.
"Over here in Avondale, we decided to follow on the coattails of downtown's (Charleston) Restaurant Week and try it here," she said.
Complimentary valet parking is available during Restaurant Week, and diners can enjoy special offerings such as three courses for $20.
