CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – Congressman Tim Scott is encouraging folks to join him in an effort to better South Carolina's economy.
Scott is hosting a conference titled, "Revitalizing America: Carolina Strong."
Jim Newsom, president and CEO of the South Carolina State Ports Authority and Josef Kerscher, President of BMW Manufacturing Co. are just some of the business leaders set to participate.
"This is an opportunity for business owners, other folks who may be interested in employment as well to come out and take a look at the future of South Carolina economy and see how we can make a difference in making this nation's economy far better," said Scott.
Other panelists will be South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Robert Bobby Hitt, Boeing Company CEO Jim McNerney and local business leader Maurice Washington. The conference will touch on subjects like reasons for their success, lessons learned and the future of South Carolinas economy.
The conference will be held at the College of Charleston on Oct. 1.
