CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Johns Island man was convicted of distributing crack cocaine Tuesday and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Belvin M. Page, 50, was prosecuted as a persistent offender because already had been convicted in 2009 of possession with intent to distribute cocaine in 2009, according to a news release from Solicitor Scarlett A. Wilson.
Charleston County detectives began an investigation of Page based on work with a confidential information, according to Wilson's office.
The jury deliberated for less than an hour.
