GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Carolina man was arrested Wednesday by Georgetown County sheriff's deputies after investigators say he used a social networking site to solicit sex from a person he thought was an underage girl.

Rickey Joe Sansom, 22, of Greensboro, N.C., was arrested at his home. He is charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, an offense that carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison upon conviction.

Investigators said Thursday Sansom - who was working as an after-school counselor - was using a social networking site to try to lure a person he thought was a "female child."

The child actually was a member of the county's Internet Crimes Division.
