CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston police have arrested a Johns Island man for burglarizing his employer's business on September 10.

Police say 24-year-old Drew Barter is charged with burglary in the second degree.

On September 10, Barter told police that he arrived at Dick's Sporting Goods on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. to find the front door open and the alarm panel disarmed. Police say employees also found that someone had removed money from the safe.

The employees told police that to get into to the store, the safe room and the safe, someone would have to have two separate keys, the alarm code and the combination to the safe. Police say only store managers and assistant managers have access to those items.

Police report that the investigation resulted in Barter being arrested for this burglary.
