CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Charleston Police officials say a man has been arrested for an attempted armed robbery and a shooting that occurred on Thursday morning.
Police say 22-year-old Tyreece Smith is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and attempted armed robbery.
The shooting happened near 949 King Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
The victim was approached by a man with a gun who demanded money. That's when the victim took off running and was shot twice in the back of his legs, according to police.
