CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Smithsonian Institution is offering free tickets this weekend to some local museums.

The promotion is part of "Museum Day" and starts Saturday.

People interested in participating can download free tickets to tour museums by going to the Smithsonian's website.

Among the Lowcountry offerings for Museum Day:

- The Powder Magazine, 79 Cumberland St., Charleston
