CCSO deputies, troopers seek man who fled traffic stop

LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County sheriff's deputies are assisting South Carolina Highway Patrol officers who are attempting to find a person who fled a traffic stop in Ladson.

Charleston County deputies confirmed a manhunt was underway just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

According to a spokesperson with the SCHP, a deputy noticed a motorist with expired tags on I-26. When he tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver exited onto Hwy 78, pulled over after going about 2.5 miles on Ladson Rd. and fled on foot.

By 2:25 p.m. CCSO deputies were clearing the area but the man had not been found.
