Haley opens door to constituents in Sumter

Posted: Updated:

SUMTER, S.C. (AP) -- Gov. Nikki Haley is scheduled to make a stop in Sumter and give constituents a chance to sit down and chat.

Haley is holding "open door" meetings on Monday at the Sumter City Centre. Haley's office says the meetings give people a chance to discuss any issue with the governor.

Appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents are given a 30-minute window to reserve a slot. Anyone interested should call (803) 734-1999 between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The "open door after 4" sessions were started by former Gov. Mark Sanford. Haley continued the tradition.
