School custodian charged with allegedly assaulting student

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County sheriff's deputies say a school custodian assaulted a 16-year-old student Thursday.

Wilber B. Dash is charged with third-degree assault.

Deputies were called to Cane Bay High School around 2 p.m. Thursday for a report of an assault. They were told the student had been assaulted by Dash, according to a news release from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

The Berkeley County School District issued a statement that said Dash has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
