Pop-Up Halloween stores see early boom in customers
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV)—It's the scariest month of the year, and Charleston residents need to look no further than their own backyards for everything Halloween-related.
Halloween Superstores are popping up around the Lowcountry, and they are already seeing a steady flow of customers looking for the latest and greatest costumes, decorations and scary surprises only specialty stores can carry.
Spirit Halloween in Mount Pleasant has only been open about a week, and has already seen a boom in business in both the Mount Pleasant Town Center and West Ashley locations.
Kat Harper is an assistant manager at Spirit Halloween, and says the store offers something for everyone.
"We sell costumes, decorations, accessories, glow sticks, all kinds of stuff," Harper said. "Our business this year has been phenomenal… Our first day open we probably had about $8,000 worth of sales. We've only been open for a week, and we've had constant flow."
So whether you're dressing up as a scary serial killer or a sexy schoolgirl, there is something for everyone at pop-up Halloween stores. It's a trend that can only help the Lowcountry economy.
