Thurmond to face Tinkler in November election - WCIV-TV | ABC News 4 - Charleston News, Sports, Weather

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Paul Thurmond defeated fellow Republican Walter Hundley in a runoff election Tuesday for the open state Senate District 41 seat.

Thurmond will face Democrat Paul Tinkler in the general election next month.

In Charleston County, according to unofficial results, Thurmond secured 1,598 votes in Tuesday's Election. Hundley garnered 704 votes.

A portion of District 41 is in Dorchester County. There, Thurmond won 173 votes, compared to Hundley's 19.
