CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Authorities are looking for a Charleston man who allegedly stole a car Sept. 28.

Joseph T. Nelson, 41, of 464 Race St., stole the vehicle from 17 Judith St., police say.

Nelson is described as a black man who is bald. He is 5-feet 9-inches tall, police said, and weighs about 190 pounds.

A woman reported her 2007 Saab had been stolen Sept. 29 and told investigators at the time the vehicle might have been unlocked. A spare key also might have been inside the car, according to a report from the Charleston Police Department.

The car was found just hours later in a parking lot on South Street.

Anyone with information about the case can call Lowcountry Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 or the Charleston Police Department at 577-7434.
