MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- A body was found Wednesday afternoon in a retention pond in Mount Pleasant.
Police have confirmed that the body of a white woman was found just after 5 p.m. in a pond near 825 Marshgrass Blvd. in Salt Grass Pointe. The body did not appear to have any "observable signs of trauma," according to a spokesman for the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
According to a neighbor in the area, a man walking his dog found the body around 5 p.m. The neighbor was told by police the incident would be treated as a crime scene pending an investigation.
A neighbor said the body was found by a 19-year-old man walking by the pond when he noticed something floating. He went back to his home nearby and told his mother, who called 911.
