CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The trial of Marion Lamont Brown Jr., accused of carjacking, kidnapping and raping a woman in May 2011 was postponed after Brown suffered a seizure in the middle of his hearing.

His lawyer told the court that Brown has a history of seizures.

Brown was arrested at his home on Johns Island in June 2011. Investigators say he forced a woman parked at the West Ashley Medical Center to drive to Sunnyvale Road. Investigators say he raped her at a vacant home.

Brown was out on bond for an aggravated assault charge in the City of Charleston. That case was still pending. The sheriff's office charged him with three counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and second degree assault and battery.

Brown agreed to a guilty plea before his seizure Thursday. He will be sentenced to a 30 year sentence to be served consecutively.

His trial is on hold until further notice.
